Getting Ready for Glitterfest!

My house is a mess, my craft room is a mess, my dog is feeling neglected, but I'm having a blast!

Some of you may need to look away for this project.  It's what I do, take something old and give it a new life.  In order to do that I must destroy the old first.

In this case, I am working with a silver plated serving tray.  The kind all our grandmothers and most of our moms have.

 Looking good, safety first.

First I remove the edge of the tray, then cut into two peices to work with.  This one gave me a heck of a time.

Then there was 5

Off to the grinder. This smoothes out all the edges so they are not sharp.

Three hours later and you have 3 started books and 2 misc. shapes I have ideas for.  Did I forget to mention what I am making with this tray?  Check back to see what the next steps are and the finished product.

Oh, and the dog! I told you he is feeling neglected.

My first blog!

I can't believe it, this is my first blog!  I have been wanting to do this for over a year and today it has finally happened.  Thanks to the wonderful Jennie Bletscher, who held my hand and I am sure will continue to do so until I get this figured out.

Anna's Shower

Last May, my mom, sister in law and myself threw a bridal shower for our good friend Anna.  That is her on the left with her grandmother, sister, Kate and mom, Judith.

My mom and I did the tables and decorations.

Molly was in charge of the candy bar.

I made paper hearts and flowers.

We had such a great day.

Making cookies for the shower

I was in charge of making the party favors for our friends bridal shower.

Here is what your kitchen looks like after 4 batches of sugar cookie dough and about 6 batches of royal icing.

This project took me about 3 days from start to finish.

The flowers were made out of Fondant.  Oh, and don't forget the Luster Dust.

Wrapped and ready to go!
